How to convert your Instagram Personal account to an Instagram Creator or Business account

In order for Roster to automatically capture Instagram Stories for the campaigns in which you participate, you will need to have an Instagram Professional account. connected to an Instagram business page.

The process is broken into the following three steps:

This guide covers Step 1 and assumes you currently have an Instagram Personal account. If you already have an Instagram Professional account, you can skip to Step 2. In order to get everything fully set up and running properly you'll need to go through all 3 steps! So make sure to follow this through! You'll thank us later! ;)

Step 1: Convert your Instagram Personal account to an Instagram Professional account

In either the Instagram app or in a browser,

  • Open your Instagram profile

  • Click "More" in the bottom left corner

  • Click on "Settings

  • Click "Switch to professional account"

You'll then be prompted to select between a Creator or Business account. The Creator Account is best for public figures, content producers, artists, and influencers, whereas the Business Account is best for retailers, local businesses, brands, organizations, and service providers.

  • Based on the information above select the one that you feel best describes you!

  • You'll then be presented with additional information. Click "Next" when ready.

  • You will then be prompted to select a category that best describes what you do.

    1 ) Select the option you feel accurately describes you

    2 ) Click "Done"

  • Congrats πŸŽ‰ You now have an Instagram Professional account

Now when you go to your Instagram account's settings page, you will see a new menu item to manage your Instagram Professional account.
